Fix common problems

Start with the message on screen; Chapbook keeps destructive recovery steps explicit.

I cannot sign in

Use Email me a sign-in link, reset the password, or resend email verification from the screen you reach. Check spam. Open a sign-in link on the same device; password-reset links expire after one hour. An invalid reset opens Request a new link.

A source will not load

Check the supported type, file size, rights, and whether the URL is public, then try again. Open the Couldn’t read detail, remove the source, and add it again. Private and local URLs are not supported sources. See Notes & research for limits.

Writing or export stopped

Read the job message, retry the action, and use Stop only when you intend to cancel the running work. Insufficient credits leads to Billing; an action that needs a paid plan asks you to choose one.

For a repeated export-tool or build failure, retry once, then contact support with the book title, action, time, and visible error code. Never send a feedback link.

Preview is out of date

Changed since this preview means the book moved after the last render; choose re-render.

The public page is not showing my edits

A live page is a snapshot; choose Update page to publish the current revision. The cover thumbnail follows the currently selected cover. A lapsed page stays at its last published version; updating needs a plan.

A stopped feedback link, unpublished page, changed handle, or changed slug invalidates the old address. Create or copy the current address from the relevant book page.

A chapter changed elsewhere

Copy any unsaved text somewhere safe, reload the chapter, and reapply your change to the newest revision. See Suggestions & revisions for revision recovery.

When to contact support

Write to hello@chapbook.ink when retrying does not resolve a repeatable error, a page was taken down, or a trashed book needs recovery.
