How the planner fills the weeks

Each format has its own slots, so the planner queues each one on its own, in the order you list the titles. Week by week it takes the next titles that have that format, up to the limit, then moves to the next Sunday. A book’s eBook and paperback may land in different weeks if one queue is longer than the other.

KDP counts a title when you create it, not when it goes on sale, so plan by the day you will set each one up. Since 5 October 2026 it also limits first submissions to the same number per format each week, drafts included. The guide to the limit explains what changed and why.

When does the KDP weekly limit reset?

Every Sunday at 00:00 UTC, which is still Saturday evening in the Americas.
