# Lead magnet ideas for yoga studios

A yoga studio’s lead magnet should get someone through the door the first time: what a first class is like, which style suits them, what to bring. Here are ten briefs that open in Chapbook as starting points, each with its reader and voice. None makes a health claim, so check anything about injury or pregnancy with a qualified teacher or clinician.

## A brief to start from

> A short guide to a first yoga class: what to wear and bring, when to arrive, where shoes go, how a class usually runs, what to do when you get lost, what to tell the teacher, and how to rest at any point. Reader: a stiff forty-year-old who has wanted to try yoga for years and fears being the worst in the room. Voice: warm, a little funny, second person. No health claims.

## 10 ideas

1. **Your first yoga class, from the door to the mat** (Lead magnet). Many beginners worry about looking foolish in a room full of people who know what they’re doing. A plain account of the first fifteen minutes answers what they’d never ask at the front desk.
Brief: A short guide to a first yoga class: what to wear and bring, when to arrive, where shoes go, how a class usually runs, what to do when you get lost, what to tell the teacher, and how to rest at any point. 2. **Which class is for you** (Lead magnet). Vinyasa, yin, restorative and hatha mean nothing to a beginner reading a schedule. Explaining the differences in terms of how each class feels helps someone choose and book a first one.
Brief: A plain guide to choosing a yoga class: what hatha, vinyasa, yin and restorative classes usually feel like, how heated rooms differ, and how to read a studio schedule, with a short set of questions that point to a first class. Use only the classes I list for our studio. Reader: someone looking at a schedule and not knowing what any of it means. Voice: friendly and exact, no spiritual jargon, no health claims.

3. **A fourteen-day home practice workbook** (Workbook). A beginner who goes weeks between classes starts over each time. A short daily plan with a log gives them a routine at home, and something to talk to a teacher about when they visit.
Brief: A fourteen-day workbook for starting a short home yoga practice: where to practice, a ten-minute sequence with options, breath and rest, and a log page for each day to note how it felt. Reader: a studio beginner with a mat in a closet and small children at home. Voice: second person, gentle and practical, short lessons then a page to fill in. It says to stop if something hurts and to ask a qualified teacher or clinician about any condition. No health claims.

4. **The poses, one page at a time** (Collection). Students forget a pose’s name as soon as class ends. A reference in one repeating shape, using photos of your own teachers, is something students keep and that a generic blog can’t replace.
Brief: A collection of sixteen beginner yoga poses, grouped into standing, seated, floor and resting poses. Each entry has its everyday and Sanskrit names, a fact list (props, common alternatives, what to feel for), then a short paragraph on how to come in and out of it. I will upload my own photos for each pose. Reader: a student in their first three months. Voice: patient and precise, and no health claims.

5. **Yoga for desk workers, in pictures** (Illustrated guide). Office workers look for help with stiffness, and they are people with lunch hours and budgets. An illustrated guide for them opens a door a general beginner’s guide doesn’t.
Brief: An illustrated guide to short movement breaks for people who sit all day: moving the neck, shoulders, wrists and hips from a chair, and a five-minute sequence for the end of the day, with something to try at the end of each section. I will replace generated pictures with my own photos for each movement. Reader: an office worker with a stiff back who would never call themselves a yoga person. Voice: friendly and brief. No health claims: it promises no pain relief and says to see a clinician about pain.

6. **A guide to your teacher training** (Lead magnet). Someone considering teacher training is weighing a big commitment of money and time, and wants far more than a web page. A fuller guide answers the questions they’d otherwise ask you one at a time.
Brief: A guide to choosing a yoga teacher training: what it involves week to week, the time and cost as I state them for our program, what graduates are and are not prepared for, how to judge any program, and questions to ask. Use only the program facts I supply. Reader: a dedicated student wondering whether to train. Voice: honest and unhyped, no health claims, no income claims and no promise of a teaching job.

7. **A brochure for the corporate wellness pitch** (Brochure). An office manager needs something to forward to their boss. A short booklet on how a workplace class runs answers the practical questions that otherwise stall the decision.
Brief: A short booklet offering on-site or online yoga classes to local workplaces: what a class looks like, what space and equipment it needs, scheduling, and how to book a trial. Use only the studio details and prices I supply. Reader: an office manager asked to find something for staff wellness. Voice: clear and professional, no health or productivity claims, no testimonials.

8. **A studio newsletter issue** (Newsletter). A lapsed member may need a reminder more than a discount. An issue on a teacher, a pose and next month’s workshops reminds them why they came, and gives them a concrete class to return for.
Brief: A monthly newsletter issue from a neighborhood yoga studio: an interview with one teacher, one pose explained, next month's workshops, and a note on the new schedule. Use only the facts I supply. Reader: a member who has not been in for two months. Voice: warm and brief, first person plural, no guilt and no health claims.

9. **Prenatal and postnatal questions to ask** (Lead magnet). Expecting parents look hard for classes they can trust. A careful guide to what to ask, with a clear pointer to their clinician, serves them well and shows a studio that takes this seriously.
Brief: A guide to finding a prenatal or postnatal yoga class: what such a class usually involves, questions to ask a teacher about their training, what to tell your midwife or doctor, and how our own classes run, using only the details I supply. Reader: someone in their second trimester looking for a class. Voice: calm and respectful. General information only, no health claims: it tells the reader to check with their own clinician first and says nothing about what yoga does for pregnancy or birth.

10. **A book on your studio’s way of teaching** (Nonfiction book). A teacher with decades of practice has more to say than a class schedule can hold. A book gives students something to keep and to give a friend, and it sets out how your studio teaches.
Brief: A book for people practicing yoga past fifty: how to adapt a practice as the body changes, props, rest, strength and balance, and how to keep coming back after a break, with composite fictional students labeled as such. Reader: a fifty-eight-year-old who stopped going because classes felt too fast. Voice: wise and plain first person, no spiritual jargon, no health claims, no invented statistics, and it says to ask a clinician about any condition.

## How to choose one

Start where your front desk spends its time. If people call to ask what to wear, write the first-class guide. If they stare at the schedule, write which class is for them. If your classes fill but your workshops don’t, a newsletter issue that puts them in front of members may do more than a new guide.

Take care with what a page says about the body. Don’t write that yoga treats anything, and leave what suits an injury or a pregnancy to a qualified teacher and the student’s own clinician. A draft can state something like that with confidence, so read those paragraphs as if your insurer were reading along.

## Every brief here opens in Chapbook

Each idea comes with the paragraph Chapbook needs to start: the topic, the reader and the voice. The brief at the top of this page is a starting point, not a book we have already made from it. Open it, put in your own studio’s door, props and class names, and add a few of your newsletters as voice samples. Chapbook then proposes titles and an outline for you to approve before anything is drafted.

## Questions

### What is a good lead magnet for a yoga studio?

A guide to a first class is the natural first choice. It answers what a nervous beginner wants to know, gives them your class names and the way to your door, and is short enough to read on a phone before they book.

### Can a yoga lead magnet say yoga helps with back pain or anxiety?

Keep those claims out unless you can support them and your own insurance and rules allow them. These briefs make none. Chapbook does not check health claims, and a draft can state one confidently, so read every line and remove any you find.

### Should I use generated pictures of yoga poses?

Not to teach a pose. A generated picture can get a joint angle or a grip wrong, and a reader may copy it. Upload your own photos in the editor for any movement, and keep generated pictures for covers and scenes.
