# Lead magnet ideas for wedding planners

A wedding planner’s best lead magnet takes a newly engaged couple through the part that overwhelms them first: the order of decisions, the budget talk with both families, what to ask a venue. Here are ten for full-service and day-of planners, each a brief that opens in Chapbook as a starting point for your own weddings and market.

## A brief to start from

> A twelve-month wedding planning workbook: what to decide in what order, from the budget and guest count to the venue, vendors, invitations and final week, with one fill-in page a month and a checklist for each stage. Reader: a newly engaged couple, both working full time, who opened a planning app and closed it again. Voice: calm and organized, second person, no invented average costs, and it says when a planner would be worth asking.

## 10 ideas

1. **The twelve-month planning workbook** (Workbook). A newly engaged couple’s first problem is knowing what comes first. A month-by-month workbook gives them order, and shows how you run a wedding before they’ve decided to hire anyone.
Brief: A twelve-month wedding planning workbook: what to decide in what order, from the budget and guest count to the venue, vendors, invitations and final week, with one fill-in page a month and a checklist for each stage. 2. **The budget conversation with both families** (Lead magnet). Money is where wedding planning first gets tense, and most guides only list costs. Help with the actual conversation is what couples can’t easily find, and it shows your tact.
Brief: A guide to the wedding budget conversation: how to raise money with each set of parents, what to ask and what strings to watch for, how to decide what matters most and how to write it down. Reader: a couple whose parents have offered to help in very different amounts. Voice: tactful and warm, sample sentences to borrow, no invented average costs, no financial advice.

3. **The questions to ask a venue** (Lead magnet). Venue tours are charming, and the problems are in the contract. A list of what to ask about overtime, noise, vendors and rain plans gets taken on every tour, and it has your name on it.
Brief: A checklist of questions to ask a wedding venue before signing: what is really included, overtime and last call, approved vendors, rain plans, deposits and cancellation, and how to compare two venues. Reader: a couple booking three tours next weekend. Voice: terse and friendly, a one-line reason for each question, no invented prices, and it says to read the contract and ask a lawyer about anything unclear.

4. **Do we really need a planner?** (Brochure). Couples often aren’t sure what a planner does, and full-service, partial and day-of sound alike. A fair explanation, including when they don’t need you, makes the first call easier.
Brief: A short brochure explaining the difference between full-service planning, partial planning and day-of coordination: what each covers, who it suits, when to book and when a couple may not need a planner at all. Reader: a couple who were told a venue coordinator is the same thing. Voice: plain and fair, no invented price ranges, no scare stories.

5. **A kids’ table activity pack** (Activity pack). A happy kids’ table means calmer parents and a quieter ceremony. A printable PDF is a small, charming thing to send a couple you’re talking to, and it passes between friends who are planning weddings of their own.
Brief: A printable activity pack for the children's table at a wedding, with eight coloring pages of original animal guests at a party, a word search of wedding words, a maze to the dance floor, a matching page and a draw-the-happy-couple worksheet, for ages 6 to 8, sent to the couple as a PDF to print. Reader: a couple who has to keep eight children busy through dinner. Voice: short, playful instructions a child can follow, and a brief note for the grown-up. Every character is our own.

6. **Planning a wedding from another city** (Lead magnet). Couples planning from far away have the most reason to hire local help and the least idea how to find it. A guide on how to run it remotely reaches them early in the process.
Brief: A guide to planning a wedding from another city: how many trips to plan, which decisions can be made remotely, how to vet vendors you cannot visit, how to host guests traveling from elsewhere and a timeline. Reader: a couple living in one city and marrying in one partner's hometown three states away. Voice: reassuring and organized, no invented costs, no travel brand endorsements.

7. **The wedding party’s instruction sheet** (Brochure). Every wedding has a bridesmaid who didn’t get the email. A short booklet for the wedding party saves the couple from sending fifty texts, and it’s an easy thing for a planner to give away.
Brief: A short booklet for a wedding party: what happens on the day and when, what to bring, who to ask, how to help the couple and what not to do at the rehearsal, with marked blanks for times and addresses. Reader: a best friend who is a bridesmaid for the first time. Voice: light and clear, no assumptions about who is in the party.

8. **A guide to a wedding that fits your family** (Illustrated guide). Many couples are combining two traditions, or two families who have never met. A guide on how to plan with both in mind shows you take that seriously, and helps people who feel underserved by most wedding sites.
Brief: An illustrated guide to planning a wedding that honors two cultures or faiths: how to learn what matters to each family, how to divide the day, working with two officiants, food, music and explaining customs to guests, one picture per idea. Use only traditions I describe in my notes, and do not generalize about any culture. Reader: an interfaith couple whose parents have not yet met. Voice: warm and respectful, no assumptions about gender or family shape.

9. **Real weddings, told by what went wrong** (Collection). Pretty wedding galleries are everywhere. Stories of the rainstorm and the late bus, and how they got handled, show what a planner is actually for. Use them only with each couple’s permission.
Brief: A collection of five stories from real weddings I planned, each told as what went wrong, what we did in the next ten minutes and what the couple never knew about. Use only my own notes, with each couple's permission and with names changed if they ask, and invent no event, quote or figure. Reader: a couple wondering whether a planner is worth it. Voice: warm first person, funny and honest.

10. **A seasonal note for couples and vendors** (Newsletter). A short issue on what to do this season keeps couples moving and keeps florists and venues thinking of you when they’re asked for a recommendation.
Brief: A seasonal newsletter issue from a wedding planner: what couples marrying next year should do now, a real-wedding detail worth stealing, one vendor spotlighted with permission and open dates. Use only the details I supply. Reader: a recently engaged local couple or a local florist. Voice: brief, warm and specific, no invented vendors or prices.

## How to choose one

Think about the moment a couple first feels out of their depth. If it’s the morning after the engagement, write the twelve-month workbook. If it’s the talk with their parents about money, write the budget guide. If it’s the first venue tour, write the questions to ask, and if you plan weddings for couples who live elsewhere, write the guide to planning from far away.

Keep your stories real. A planner’s best material is what went wrong and how it was fixed, so keep to what happened, with each couple’s permission. Leave out invented averages and promises that a day will go perfectly.

## Every brief here opens in Chapbook

Each idea comes with the paragraph Chapbook needs to start: the topic, the reader and the voice. The brief at the top of this page is a starting point, not a book we have already made from it: open it, put in your region and your kind of wedding, and add your own timelines and checklists as sources. Chapbook then proposes titles and an outline for you to approve before anything is drafted.

## Questions

### What is a good lead magnet for a wedding planner?

A guide to what overwhelms a newly engaged couple first, such as the order of decisions or the budget talk with their families. It reaches them months before they’ve decided whether to hire a planner.

### Should a wedding guide quote average costs?

Only with a source and a date, because costs vary widely by region and year. It’s more honest to help a couple set their own budget and to give your local prices directly.

### Can Chapbook make a kids’ table activity pack?

Yes. A pack is 8 to 40 printable pages of coloring pictures, worksheets and puzzles, as one black-on-white PDF on US Letter or A4. Every character must be your own. A children’s pack’s book page signs up only a parent, guardian or teacher aged 18 or over, so send couples the exported PDF directly.
