# Lead magnet ideas for fitness coaches

A fitness coach’s best lead magnet gets someone moving this week and answers the doubt that stopped them last time: a four-week starter plan, a form guide for the lifts they’re scared of, what to do after a missed month. Here are ten, each a brief that opens in Chapbook as a starting point for your own clients and method.

## A brief to start from

> A four-week starter strength workbook for adults who have not lifted before: three short full-body sessions a week with dumbbells at home, how to pick a weight, what soreness is normal, and a log page for each session. Reader: a desk worker in their forties who joined a gym twice and quit. Voice: encouraging and exact, second person, no before-and-after promises, no weight-loss claims, and it says to check with a doctor first if they have a health condition or injury.

## 10 ideas

1. **The four-week starter plan** (Workbook). A beginner mostly needs a plan short enough to believe in. Four weeks of simple sessions with a log gives them a real start, and shows how you program.

2. **How to do the five lifts you’re afraid of** (Illustrated guide). Plenty of gym beginners stay on the machines because they’re embarrassed by the free weights. An illustrated guide to setup and common errors gets them across the room, and shows how you coach.
Brief: An illustrated guide to five basic lifts for beginners: the squat, deadlift, overhead press, row and bench press, with setup, a cue or two, the most common mistake and an easier version of each, one picture per idea. Reader: someone who has never left the gym's machine area. Voice: friendly and exact, no bro talk, it says to stop if something hurts, no before-and-after promises, and it says to check with a doctor first if they have a health condition or injury.

3. **What to do after you’ve fallen off** (Lead magnet). Nearly every client has quit at least once and feels bad about it. A short guide on restarting after a missed month is honest and kind, and it catches people at the moment they are ready to try again.
Brief: A short guide to restarting exercise after months off: why going back at full effort backfires, how to choose a first week, what to do with the guilt, and a two-week return plan. Reader: someone who used to train regularly, stopped after a hard year and is embarrassed to go back. Voice: warm and blunt, second person, no shaming, no weight-loss promises, no before-and-after promises, and it says to check with a doctor first if they have a health condition or injury.

4. **Training around a desk job** (Lead magnet). A plan built on three spare hours a day doesn’t help someone with a commute and kids. A guide written for their actual week shows you understand the life your clients have.
Brief: A guide to getting strong with two forty-minute sessions a week and a desk job: what to prioritize, a simple two-day program, short movement breaks during the workday, and how to protect it when work gets busy. Reader: a parent of two with a commute. Voice: practical and frank, second person, no invented studies, no promised physique changes, no before-and-after promises, and it says to check with a doctor first if they have a health condition or injury.

5. **Your first race, step by step** (Workbook). People signing up for a first 5K have a date and a real worry. A plan and race-day checklist reaches them when they are motivated and looking for help.
Brief: A ten-week first 5K workbook for non-runners: three short sessions a week, how to tell if a pace is too fast, shoes and clothes in plain terms, the week before, and a race-day checklist. Reader: someone who signed up with a friend and has not run since school. Voice: cheerful and exact, a log page each week, no time goals, no before-and-after promises, and it says to check with a doctor first if they have a health condition or injury.

6. **Strength training after 50** (Lead magnet). Older beginners often think they’ve missed their chance, or fear getting hurt. A respectful guide just for them answers those worries directly and reaches people most programs ignore.
Brief: A guide to starting strength training after fifty: what changes and what does not, how to begin safely, a simple twice-a-week routine with machines or bands, and what to ask a doctor first. Reader: a woman of fifty-eight who has never lifted and has been told to be careful. Voice: respectful and direct, no talk of looking younger, no invented research, no medical advice, no before-and-after promises, and it says to check with a doctor first if they have a health condition or injury.

7. **The gym beginner’s manners guide** (Brochure). Some people stay away from a gym because they don’t know the unwritten rules. A light, friendly guide makes the place less scary, and a local studio or gym can give it to every new member.
Brief: A short, friendly brochure for first-time gym members: how to ask to share a machine, how to wipe things down, where to stand, what to wear and what to do if you feel lost. Reader: a nervous new member in their first week. Voice: warm and funny without mocking anyone, no selling.

8. **A year of your best training answers** (Collection). You’ve answered the same questions in comments and DMs for years. Collected, they become a useful reference, in your voice, that proves you know what you’re talking about.
Brief: A collection of six short essays edited from a coach's social posts and email answers: how much protein people ask about, why soreness is not progress, whether to train when tired, how to pick a program, and when to rest. Use only the posts I upload, and invent no study or client. Reader: a gym regular who follows fitness accounts and is confused by them. Voice: my own, plain and a little sharp, no before-and-after promises, and it says to check with a doctor first if they have a health condition or injury.

9. **A monthly note for your members** (Newsletter). Members who stay in touch with your thinking between sessions have a reason to keep coming. A short issue on one lift or habit gives them something to try and forward to a friend.
Brief: A monthly newsletter issue from a small gym: one lift explained, one member-submitted question answered, the month's class changes and a small challenge. Use only the news and questions I supply, and invent no member or result. Reader: a member who comes twice a week. Voice: friendly and brief, no weight-loss promises, no before-and-after promises, and it says to check with a doctor first if they have a health condition or injury.

10. **The book of your coaching philosophy** (Nonfiction book). A full book sets you apart from the thousand short videos on the same topic. It gives clients something to read between sessions, and gives the press and event organizers something to go on.
Brief: A practical book on training for a long life rather than a short transformation: strength, walking, sleep and recovery, how to keep going through injury and busy years, and simple programs for different stages of life. Reader: an adult in their forties who has tried every six-week plan. Voice: candid first person, composite fictional clients labeled as such, no invented statistics, no medical or nutrition prescriptions, no before-and-after promises, and it says to check with a doctor first if they have a health condition or injury.

## How to choose one

Ask what your clients say they tried before they found you. If they quit plans that were too long, write the four-week starter. If they’re afraid of the gym floor, write the guide to the lifts. If they feel they have failed, write about going back.

Be careful with the promise. Say what someone will have done by the end, like twelve sessions and a log of their weights, and leave out what they will weigh or look like. Exercise advice isn’t right for everyone, so each brief here that sets exercise reminds a reader with a health condition or injury to ask a doctor first, and you should check every exercise in a draft before you share it.

## Every brief here opens in Chapbook

Each idea comes with the paragraph Chapbook needs to start: the topic, the reader and the voice. The brief at the top of this page is a starting point, not a book we have already made from it: open it, put in your own method and clients, and add your programs or posts as sources. Chapbook then proposes titles and an outline for you to approve before anything is drafted.

## Questions

### What is a good lead magnet for a fitness coach?

A short plan someone can begin this week, or an answer to what stopped them last time. A four-week starter workbook or a guide to returning after a break gives the reader a first session rather than just a promise.

### Should a fitness lead magnet promise results?

No. You don’t know the reader’s health, history or schedule, and promised transformations are hard to stand behind. Every brief here that sets exercise tells Chapbook to leave out before-and-after claims and to send readers with a health condition or injury to a doctor.

### Can I include my own exercise photos?

Yes. Paste or drop your own photos into a chapter in the editor, and upload your own cover if you like. Check any picture Chapbook draws for correct form, and replace one that shows a movement wrong.
